Burn huge MTS files to DVD without loss of quality and sharing with family and friends

Nowadays, more and more families own HD (High-definition) digital camcorders which produce MTS extension files, especially for Sony, Panasonic and Canon users. With these camcorders, we can record our wonderful moments. And MTS files are high definition videos with perfect video quality. So, “how can I share MTS videos from my HD camcorders with my friends and family? Burn .mts to DVD?” has become a hot topic for camera fan.

By Googel search, I found many question about burn mts to dvd, for example:

Q1: Burning .MTS files to DVD without loss of quality

Well my problem is that i have .MTS video files (summing up to 2.2 gigs) to which i’d like to put on DVD without losing any quality.
The resolution of the video’s thus far are 1920×1080 (its video taken from sony HDR-SR11 HD Camcorder)…now i no that DVD resolution is max of 720×480 but i’m wondering if there is a possible way of keeping as much quality possible when burning to DVD and how i’d go about doing this.

I don’t have an HD DVD player or BD player…..(not yet at least..maybe in several months)…but like any of us on this forum…im patient..:P

Q2: How can I burn mts files to DVD?

I just bought a new Canon Vixia HF10 which saves video file in .MTS. Yesterday I had a family party and recorded it. I would like to burn the recorded files to DVD to send my family.

Canon HF10 save video file in mts formats, few days ago i had christening service of my twins as well a party. Both occasions are more than 27 gb and in different files altogether.

Now I would like to burn it in the dvd to send to families. I tried to burn mts files through nero vision, but it doesn’t works. Before I do use or dl another programme would like to be very sure what am doing.

Q4: How to burn the recorded MTS files to DVD to share my family

I just bought a new camcorder which saves video file in .MTS. Yesterday I had a family party and recorded it. I would like to burn the recorded MTS files to DVD to send my family. I have tried to burn it with Nero version, but it did not work. Please let me know which program can burn MTS files to DVD. Thanks.

Best Solution:

Like the user stated above, you may want to know the easiest way to burn camera or camcorder recorded MTS footages to DVD disc for backup or sharing with others, it is complicated to use DVD professional burning software like ImgBurn or Nero, and they usually store your AVCHD videos project as a data one. (Simply copy them to the new project and burn them directly like you’d write out some files.), in this case, you may not put these DVD discs in DVD player for playback. You must burn AVCHD MTS to DVD as a playable one.

The Pavtube DVD Creator is capable of writing .MTS files to a DVD for transferring, backup or playback purposes. Actually, many authoring programs offer “AVCHD” profile for engraving MTS HD video on a DVD. Such AVCHD discs are incompatible with regular DVD-Video players, because it employs AVC video encoding instead of MPEG-2 Part 2, but can be played in many Blu-ray Disc players. A conventional single-layer 12 cm DVD can store 35 minutes of video recorded at maximum bitrate allowed for DVD media by AVCHD specification – 18Mbps. To create a DVD from MTS files and ensure it playable on consumer DVD players, Pavtube DVD Creator is an ideal choice.

Some Advantages of burning AVCHD MTS footage to DVD:

1. Burn MTS videos to DVD to share and deliver. Such as: you can burn Wedding and Party AVHCD recordings MTS to DVD, send it to family and friends for sharing funny time.

2. Burn .MTS files to a DVD for safekeeping.

3. Burn MTS to DVD, you are enabled to watch MTS on your widescreen TV through a regular DVD player.

4. Burn MTS to DVD to save storage space for your camera and computer.

5. You can easily carry burn DVD Disc along, and playback it in house, go on a trip, even stay in car.

Tips & Warnings:

1. Both single layer DVD-5 and dual-layer DVD-9 can be used as target disc, yet we suggest you choose DVD-5 over DVD-9 because when burning data to D5 your DVD-burner writes faster with a lower risk of burning failure.

2. To make the output file size fit for your disc space, you can choose “Low Quality”, “Normal Qualit”, “High Quality” or Customize the file quality by yourself. The DVD Creator will detect and display the final output file size in real time.

3. In the following case, we imported 30 m2ts video clips (22.8 GB together in file size) into Pavtube DVD Creator, when choosing “D9” and “High Quality”, the MTS DVD-authoring program shows the exported file size will be about 7.2 GB, which is absolutely suitable for DVD-9 creation. If you are using D5, simply select a relatively lower quality to fit your smaller disc space.
