Sony HDR-AS200V XAVC S to Windows Movie Maker Import Issues http://mts-to-aic-converter.com/import-xavc-s-to-windows-movie-maker/ http://mts-to-aic-converter.com/import-xavc-s-to-windows-movie-maker/#respond Wed, 08 Apr 2015 07:52:04 +0000 http://mts-to-aic-converter.com/?p=863

Continue reading »]]> Meet the NEW Action Cam HDR AS200V, the highest image quality of all Full HD Action Cam ever. You may have got the Sony HDR-AS200V camera which recorded some full-HD footages in XAVC S format. Do you have a desire to import XAVC S to Windows Movie Maker for editing?

XAVC S, a new format introduced by Sony with MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 level 5.2, the highest picture resolution and frame rate video compression codec is much more than a video format that Windows Movie Maker can support. So, it’s not strange that you have met so many XAVC S to WMM import issues.

First of all, let’s look at a case found online. “I have a bunch of XAVC S files from a Sony HDR-AS200V. I’m running Vista 64. What is the easiest way to import XAVC S to Windows Movie Maker? When I try to import, WMM won’t allow me to use the XAVC S files as it doesn’t have the codec for it.”

Do you have the same problem as mentioned above? Want to import XAVC S to Windows Movie Maker for editing, but only to find the loading fails. Or for some unknown reasons, the XAVC S footages become lossy. In order to make the Sony AS200V XAVC S files work smoothly in WMM, you need to be clear what file formats are supported for importing into the editing tool first. You can import files with the following file extensions into Windows Movie Maker:
Videos: AVI, ASF, MPEG, MPG, WMV, and MP2
Audios: MP3, MP2, AIFF, ASF, AU, WAV and WMA

As you can see, XAVC is not among the accepted video types by WMM. To load XAVC S files into WMM, you should convert XAVC S to one of the video formats mentioned above. Pavtube Video Converter is perfect for you to finish the conversion job on any Windows computer, such as Windows 7, 8, Vista and XP. It will save you both time and trouble, and all you need to do is to drag the result videos for prompt editing.

Detailed steps about importing XAVC S to Windows Movie Maker:

Step 1: Download, set up and run the XAVC S to Windows Movie Maker Converter. Click the “Add video” icon on the top left of the panel, or directly drag and drop to add the XAVC S shootings to the program.

Step 2: Click “Format” bar to select suitable format for Windows Movie Maker. Choose “HD Video>>WMV HD (*.wmv)” as best output format.

Step 3: Click the “Settings” button and set proper video/ audio parameters. My advice is to set the video size, bit rate and fame rate to be exactly as the footages so that you will suffer least quality degradation. If you would like to use default settings, simply skip this step.

Step 4: After all necessary settings, hit the “Convert” button to start the XAVC S to Windows Movie Maker best supported WMV conversion. If you have added quite a bunch of XAVC S files, it would take some time to convert. In such case, you can click “Option” and tick the box “Shut down the computer after conversion”.

Conclusion: After the conversion, you can easily locate the converted XAVC S files by clicking the “Open” button in the main interface. Then, you can bring and edit XAVC S in Windows Movie Maker without any issue.

How to Import AVCHD MTS/M2TS to Windows Movie Maker for editing http://mts-to-aic-converter.com/how-to-import-avchd-mts-to-windows-movie-maker/ http://mts-to-aic-converter.com/how-to-import-avchd-mts-to-windows-movie-maker/#comments Fri, 29 Mar 2013 08:12:37 +0000 http://mts-to-aic-converter.com/?p=512

Continue reading »]]> Here I will show a Free Windows Movie Maker tutorial: How to convert AVCHD MTS/M2TS files to WMV with MTS to Windows Movie Maker Converter and How to import video to Windows Movie Maker for editing. Well, we look at a Windows Movie Maker user’s problem…

Why Windows Movie Maker can not play MTS files from my JVS HD camera?

“I have MTS files from a JVC HD Camera. I want convert them to a file that can be edit in Windows Movie Maker without an error message before play back. When I use MPG1 the picture becomes so tiny. Is there a happy medium? I have some files that are very long – 20 to 30 minutes.”

As we all know, Windows Movie Maker is the free video editing software installed on a PC using Microsoft Windows OS. However, probably because of the copyright issues, Windows Movie Maker only provides supports for a relative small range of formats. Unfortunately, the most popular AVCHD MTS/M2TS footages captured by a Panasonic, Canon or Sony camera/camcorder are out of the range.

Windows Movie Maker support media formats:

  • Video files: .asf, .avi, dvr-ms, .m1v, .mp2, .mp2v, .mpe, .mpeg, .mpg, .mpv2, .wm, and .wmv
  • Audio files: .aif, .aifc, .aiff, .asf, .au, .mp2, .mp3, .mpa, .snd, .wav, and .wma
  • Picture files: .bmp, .dib, .emf, .gif, .jfif, .jpe, .jpeg, .jpg, .png, .tif, .tiff, and .wmf

It is obviously that AVCHD MTS and M2TS files are out of the above mentioned formats range. If you try to capture these videos to Windows Movie Maker, it will prompt you that:

That means to edit MTS/M2TS files with Windows Movie Maker, you have to do format conversion to obey the format restrictions of WMM.

So I wrote this Guide to help you solve how to use MTS to Windows Movie Maker Converter to convert JVC HD MTS to Windows Movie Maker compatible format without crashing problem and avoid rendering.

Required:

  • Pavtube MTS/M2TS Converter: a top JVC MTS to Windows Movie Maker Converter

  • DirectX Version: 9.0 or above
  • Memory: 64MB at least
  • Processor: 500MHz Intel or 500MHz AMD CPU
  • Hard Disc Space: 512MB or above

The top AVCHD MTS Converter is specially designed for Sony, Canon, JVC and Panasonic AVCHD Camcorder/camera owners to convert MTS to AVI, convert MTS to MOV, convert M2TS to WMV, convert MTS to MP4, convert MTS to MPG, convert 3D MTS to any file format etc. with excellent audio and image quality for using in video editing software and multimedia devices.

Step 2: Select WMV as output format and set destination folder.

Click the pull down menu of “Format”, then you will be able to select a Windows Movie Maker supported format from the output format profile, we choose “Format > Common Video > WMV3 (wmv9)(*.wmv)” as the format for Windows Movie Maker. Or you can also choose “Format > HD Video > WMV HD (*.wmv)” as output format.

Meanwhile, click the folder icon at the end of “Output” to specify where to save the output files for your WMM, if not, this program will export them to the default save path automatically. BTW, if you want to combine multiple .mts and .m2ts files into a single file, you can tick off the checkbox “Merge into one file” to realize this goal.

Step 3: Adjust video and audio settings to optimize output file quality
